Libra Full Moon: The Medicine of Balance and the Courage to Be True
The Mirror of the Scales
As the moon reaches her peak in the sign of Libra, we are invited to look at the scales. Libra is the sign of the peacemaker, the artist, and the diplomat. Ruled by Venus, this energy carries a deep appreciation for beauty, harmony, and the delicate dance of relationships.
But under the light of a Full Moon, the scales often show us where things have tipped too far in one direction.
In the high-fire season of Aries—where the sun encourages us to move fast, be bold, and prioritize the self—the Libra Full Moon arrives as a gentle, steadying hand. It asks us to pause. It asks: In your hurry to move forward, who have you left behind? And in your effort to keep the peace for others, have you abandoned your own?
Finding Balance in the Nervous System: Regulation vs. Modulation
As a Neurosomatic Intelligence coach, I often define the difference between “nervous system regulation” and “nervous system modulation.” When we speak of nervous system regulation, many people mistake it for just “staying calm.” But true healing isn’t about being a flat line of tranquility. What we are really striving for is modulation.
If regulation is the act of bringing the scales back to center, modulation is the capacity of the scales to move. Looking at this through the lens of this Libra Full Moon and the energy it brings, we can use this thought as our compass to manage the swings of the fire of Aries when we need to protect ourselves or take bold action, and then glide back into the soft air of Libra to rest and connect. Modulation means you can feel the full range of human emotion—anger, joy, grief, excitement—without getting stuck in any of them.
This Full Moon is an invitation to practice this rhythmic modulation. It’s not about being perfectly still; it’s about having the flexibility to sway with life’s tides without breaking.
The Fire and the Air
There is a natural push-pull right now. The fire within (Aries) wants to move, while the air above (Libra) wants to reflect. This can feel like internal friction, but friction is exactly what creates the spark for evolution.
Libra encourages us to consider all possibilities, to see the beauty in the “other,” and to strive for justice. When we send out prayers for peace and unity during this time, we aren’t just wishing for a quiet world—we are setting an intention for a fair world.
Even a small moment of quiet awareness can ripple outward. If you feel the subtle shifts this moon brings, you already know how powerful your intention can be.
A Somatic Ritual for Equilibrium: The Breath of the Scales
If you feel like you’re putting out too much energy, try this simple practice to return to your center.
Arrive: Sit comfortably with your feet flat on the floor. Let your hands rest gently on your thighs. Visualize your spine as the stable center post of a set of scales, reaching from the base of your pelvis through the crown of your head. Feel your body settle evenly on both sides.
The Weighted Breath: Inhale slowly and deeply through your nose. As you do, imagine energy rising gently up your left side, from your left foot all the way to the top of your head (the side of receiving and intuition). Pause for a moment. Exhale smoothly through your mouth, visualizing the energy flowing down your right side, from the crown of your head to your right foot (the side of giving and action). Repeat this pattern for several full breaths.
Find the Middle: After several cycles, shift your focus to the center of your chest—your heartspace. Rest your attention there for a few breaths, noticing any sensations or feelings that arise.
The Mantra: Place both hands gently over your heart. Inhale softly. As you exhale, whisper out loud or silently: “I am allowed to be kind and clear. My peace is not a performance.” Notice how your body responds as you repeat this mantra for a few breaths.

Sound Healing: An Invitation to Rest
If this season’s push-pull feels heavy, remember you don’t have to navigate it alone. Sometimes, balance comes by simply letting go for an hour and being held by sound.
At GlassWing Medicine, I offer Full Moon Sound Baths in Onalaska, Washington. We use the frequencies of crystal bowls and gongs to help the nervous system drop out of “scanning” and into “being.”
For a more personal container, my one-to-one somatic coaching and sound healing sessions provide a safe space to explore these internal thresholds at your own pace. Whether in person or online, we work to untangle the stories that keep you stuck in survival mode, making room for the “authentic abundance” this moon promises.
A Blessing for Peace
May this Libra Full Moon light the way to the balanced center within you, shining clarity and gentle strength on your path.
May you find the brave heart to embrace honesty, offering yourself compassion as you express your truth.
May your voice resonate with the steadfastness of one you deeply trust, steady and assured.
And may you remember that you are a vital part of the harmony you seek to create.
With devotion,
Angela
