A Practice of Sound, Breath, and Vocal Reclamation.

So many of us learned to change our voices depending on who was in the room. We learned when to be quiet, when to soften what we really meant, when it was better to simply agree even when we didn’t, and when it felt safer not to speak at all. Sometimes we do this for so long that it becomes hard to tell where the adjusting ends and our own voice begins. That’s why so many are choosing to reclaim the power of their voice.

Somatic vocal empowerment is private, one-to-one work where we begin listening for that voice again. This isn’t vocal training, and you don’t need to know how to sing. We use breath, sound, sensation, and your own voice to explore what it feels like to express yourself without having to perform or get it right.

Who This Work Is For.

This work is for anyone, especially if you tend to go quiet in conflict, or hear yourself apologizing when an apology wasn’t necessary. Maybe your voice gets smaller depending on who is in the room, and you can feel it as it’s happening. You might also feel something blocking your voice in your body, something you don’t quite have words for yet. Or simply want to explore where your voice can take you as a spiritual practice.

Most people don’t arrive to this work feeling confident or even comfortable making sound. Each of us needs something different from our voice based on our own personal journey. But all of us who arrive at this work do so because our voice doesn’t feel like our own. Together, we’ll discover what that means for you.

Your voice doesn’t have to be beautiful. It just has to be powerfully yours.

What Happens in a Session.

These sessions draw on my Primal Voice framework, which uses vocal toning, call and answer, vocal empowerment practices, nervous system regulation tools, and breath exercises that give your voice a solid place to land. Each piece builds on the one before it, so we work through them at whatever pace your voice needs.

This work is a journey, so we start by figuring out where you are and which direction to go. Our process is determined by what you’re comfortable with, though we may stretch some limits along the way to build a solid foundation.

This Work Takes Time.

Private sessions are offered as a six-month commitment. Vocal patterns took years to form, and untangling what has your voice bound takes time and spaciousness. Asking your voice to change faster than your system can follow is how people end up back where they started.

This is also different than the Primal Voice weekend and ceremony, where part of the medicine is being witnessed by others as you sound. Private sessions are months of sustained attention on your voice alone, at whatever pace your nervous system sets. Many people find both have a place in their journey.

Why the Voice?

Our voice is one of the most direct ways to regulate the nervous system. When you hum or tone, you feel the vibration in your throat, face, and chest, the same places many of us hold tension, grief, and fear. The vagus nerve runs through the throat, heart, and lungs, connected to the very breath and muscles that make sound. Finding your own resonance is a way of signaling safety to your body, and with practice it becomes a tool you can reach for anytime.

A Space Where Your Voice Feels Safe.

For those who have experienced trauma, the voice often becomes guarded. As a trauma survivor and Neurosomatic Intelligence Practitioner, I understand the importance of moving at the pace of your nervous system. Your session will be held in a trauma-informed container that supports your vocal empowerment journey.

Reclaiming the voice is not only about making sound. It is about reclaiming choice and truth from the inside out.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Why is this s six-month committment

Vocal patterns form over years and unwind slowly, and real change needs repetition and a nervous system that has learned it can trust the process. Shorter arrangements tend to open something without giving it anywhere to go.

Not at all. This work has nothing to do with musical ability or vocal performance. You only need your breath, your body, and a willingness to meet yourself where you are.

Primal Voice is a two-day ceremonial gathering held in community, where being witnessed by others is part of the medicine. Private sessions are sustained one-to-one work over months, shaped entirely around you. Many people find both have a place in their journey.

This is one of the most common things people bring into a first session, and it is completely welcome. Many people have learned to silence themselves over time. The voice tends to open naturally when it finally feels safe.
